Fitzgerald Esplin Advertising - 2009 American Graphic Design Awards

Clients of Fitzgerald Esplin Advertising (FEA) have award winning designs! Graphic Design USA Officials bestowed the American Graphic Design 2009 award of excellence on three works submitted by Fitzgerald Esplin Advertising. The pieces competed with 8,000 entries submitted by graphic design firms, advertising agencies, corporations and institutional designers, publishers and other media from across the country.

Reuter Hanney
2009 GD USA Award of Excellence: Brochure & Collateral
Brochure & Collateral Category: Reuter Hanney, Inc., electrical power specialists, asked FEA to develop a look that immediately grabbed customers' and potential customers' attention. FEA created a gate-opening folder with an arresting, strong, unusual view of transmission lines. When opened, the folder cradles a white brochure that is spangled with electrical power lines and designed to stand from the piece. Two colorful 4x9 brochures, a CD/DVD cover, line cards and report covers complement the pieces and give Reuter Hanney the flexibility to tailor contents to customer needs.

Reuter Hanney’s CEO and President Michael Reuter said, “Though we’re in a technical industry, we wanted a pocket brochure that pushed the envelope and drew the eye - something different than what you’d typically see from companies in our field. The center opening, the unusual view of high voltage lines, the color – they all draw attention and signify that we’re different. We enjoyed working with FEA because they took charge of the project, accomplished it quickly, met all deadlines and gave us unbeatable flexibility throughout the process and in the final result.”

Village Handcrafted Cabinetry
2009 GD USA Award of Excellence: Logo & Brochure/Folder
Logo Category: A custom cabinetmaker in Pennsylvania, Village Handcrafted Cabinetry requested a distinctive mark for use in print, on the web and for their vehicle and building signage. The company asked that the logo distinguish their work from competitors’ and reflect the custom, intricate work for which they are renowned. FEA created a handtooled carved column image representing part of the Village Handcrafted name.

Brochure & Folder Category: Village Handcrafted Cabinetry wished to showcase their exceptional work with a uniquely designed, classy folder holding a four-page saddlestitched brochure. FEA created a brochure with curved edges that underscore the peerless attention to detail that Village Handcrafted applies to every project. The brochure features lavish closeups of custom details as well as beautiful and diverse spreads of the finest custom cabinetry in kitchens, bathrooms, parlors, game rooms, libraries and media rooms.

Village Handcrafted Cabinetry’s Marketing Director Gina Trave said, “FEA quickly understood the look and feel of our company, listened carefully to our ideas and then translated them beautifully into visual format. Joanne and her team developed several logo concepts, but knew our company so well that they accurately predicted which we’d choose. The brochure is everything we envisioned and more. It brings in both business and compliments while delivering the information customers need.”

“We view each project as a joint undertaking between our team and our clients. Outstanding work is only possible when a creative agency allies with an enlightened and cooperative client who is willing to approve bold, distinctive designs. This was certainly the case during the creation of the materials for Village Handcrafted Cabinetry and Reuter Hanney,” says Fitzgerald Esplin Advertising’s President and Founder, Joanne Esplin.

At FEA, we very much appreciate and value the recognition, but we value equally – perhaps more - the kudos we received when Village Handcrafted and Reuter Hanney said, “this is exactly what we wanted” and “this helps our business grow.” We look forward to bringing the same warm personal attention, timely service and creativity to your project.
